okay, so for my latest textiles project we've been challenged to create a "simple" garment inspired by the work of one of our favourite artists or designers. I chose Galliano and his spring 2011 couture for Christian Dior. Not the simplest of collections. In fact Galliano himself said it was the most technically challenging collection he's produced, so as you can imagine it's hard to find inspiration for a simple garment from that. These three designs are what I've come up with so far, they aren't very simple I know, but I love them! I want to make them all! (not to blow my own horn here or anything like that).
I showed my teacher the first two designs (I've only just produced the third) and she looked a little worried.
(I can't blame her since we only have a month to do this and it all apparantly has to be done with the teacher around or it's considered cheating, ridiculous!) but I think I should be able to manage one of them. I hope I can manage at least one of them.
