Shiny and sheer and all things queer. Mugler womenswear fall 2011.

When I say "queer" I mean unusual, and unusual this was. Like something dropped off by an alien spaceship (a theme which has not been uncommon this year) with a mix of sheer fabrics and patent leathers gave a truely weird but wonderful kinda vibe. I think a definite favourite part of the show for me was when the felines pounced in. Not literal cats but there was a clear feline inspiration to a small set of outfits, a sheer black leopard print cat suit with fur sleeves and a saucy growling pose from the model Ajak Deng reinforced cats to the max. I loved it!
And of course a lot of hype was given to the star model of the show, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, a.k.a Lady Gaga who looked stunning in both the outfits she modeled, those hair extensions made her look beautiful, I always thought she suited longer hair better, it makes her face look much less harsh. (not that she doesn't look beautiful with short hair too mind you).
However as thrilled as I was to see my favourite mistress I think a little too much of the attention was given to her when the real stars were the clothes, and beautiful clothes they were!
