I have to agree with the general opinion on Anne Hathaways style choice and say that she did it right at this year's Oscar's: For the most part. However everyone is going crazy over her red carpet dress, the red valentino gown. In my opinion it was pretty ugly. The fabric was much too heavy for that length and the hem is awful, it's too straight, it looks puckered and it almost comes into a square, and that extra piece of over-weight fabric dangling by her leg doesn't help. The worst part though is that shiny plasticy finish, she looks like a bright red bin-bag.
But there's a light at the end of the tunnel, every gown she wore after that awful mistake was a winner. The armani piece was, although weird, quite beautiful, and the Givenchy Couture was fabulous! The Oscar De La Renta gown that followed was also fantastic and the Attelier Versace she wore to the after party was a perfect way to end the night.
